Cotton Cabinet Towel Service

The Cotton Cabinet Towel System was first introduced in the 60s and replaced the widely used "Roller Towel", a simple loop of exchangeable cotton towelling that was hung over a towel rail. Whilst unhygienic ( the same cloth was used over and over again by many users) it did, when fresh, offer the comfort of hand drying on a cloth towel.
The modern Cloth Cabinet Towel introduced a hygienic way of providing the comfort of cloth hand drying with none of the disadvantages. Good quality cotton roll towels have been shown to be the most desirable way of drying hands. Tests have shown people dislike air dryers, and when given a choice between paper, air dryers and cloth, they will pick the cloth.  Many businesses now recognise the benefits of using cloth roll towels and see the service as a way to reduce costs, reduce potential absenteeism and because it is environmentally the best choice. Why then aren't more cloth towels evident in the Australian market?
When the Cloth Roll Towel was introduced into Australia in the 1960s by the three large multi nationals, there was initial success and enthusiasm. Over a surprisingly short period however, the momentum was lost. Towel cleanliness, quality and state of repair deteriorated. Towel cabinets were not maintained and service was unreliable. In order to lengthen towel life polyester/cotton towels were often introduced (with a less effective drying capacity).. and growth in the industry stalled.
Cotton Cloth Towels, properly supplied and serviced provide the characteristics of the ideal product/service. They work best for the task, the service is economical, its environmentally sound and people prefer to use it.
Australian Uniform Service provides the quality Cotton Cloth Towel Service that is needed in Australia today. The stylish cabinets are provided and fitted fee of charge. The 100% cotton towels are exchanged clean and fresh each week. The benefits provided by our service over paper and air drying solutions are clear and unambiguous and some are briefly listed below. More detailed comparisons between AUS Cotton Cabinet Towel Service and paper and air dryers are shown in linked menu pages on this site and should be studied in detail.

Service Description

Australian Uniform Service is determined to continue to grow the Cotton Cabinet Towel Service in Australia by supplying the most reliable, quality hand drying service to all industries. The service works this way. AUS cabinets are supplied and installed free of charge and there is no charge for the dispensing equipment. The cabinets are best fitted 1.7m from the floor.
Each week the AUS Service person will deliver and exchange clean Cotton Roll Towels for soiled ones to a specified location within the clients premises, on a strictly one for one basis.
A minimum charge each week per Cabinet is based on an expected weekly usage of one Cotton Roll Towel.

The initial stock for a new Customer is two Cotton Cloth Roll Towels per cabinet. In large installations
this is corrected up or down when usage patterns are determined.
Where there are small groups of people
using the facility (below 10 people) there is flexibility to use "plans" which have various products included
eg. mats, cabinets and tea towels.

The idea with AUS "plans" is to provide customers with a small staff or low usage a  cost effective way of
using our products. The 'plan' billing is a fixed charge for a period regardless of the usage. More information on AUS plans will be provided later in this manual.

The Cotton Roll Towel is an average length of 41 metres, giving a minimum 130 "pulls" from each cloth roll. Each pull on the cloth towel will dispense 200mm of fresh towel. The loop of the towel should be adjusted to provide no more than 500mm of exposed towel. Once loaded the Cabinet uses a time delay mechanism to limit excessive towel use.The cabinet should be locked when in use and the customer is provided with a cabinet key.
Loading instructions are shown on a printed decal which can be seen when the cabinet is open.
With our Cotton Towel Service stock is controlled by an exact exchange of rolls, clean for dirty on each weekly
delivery.

Most of the time Customers change our Cotton Roll Towels themselves as required, however when our service provider is doing the towel exchange, the cabinet should be checked and rolls changed as needed.
All AUS service vehicles should carry a spare mechanism, spare cabinet keys and appropriate tools at all times so faulty machines can be quickly repaired on the spot.
